i love a self portrait - almost as much as i love a snuggly naked baby in the mornings. this is the life.

thanks yaya!
ellen made us some treats & mailed them to us this week! we saw one of those taggie blankets at a store when she was in town in july - and she offered to make one instead. so we went to a local fabric shop and picked out a great corduroy squirrel fabric and velvet ribbon for the tags. and then she put cellophane between the fabric we picked and a soft minky fabric on the other side and made him a taggie that has different textures to feel and makes a scrunchy noise. i know he will love it as he gets old enough to play intentionally with it!
she also made us a bunch of binky holders which i loved! this is probably my favorite one (you know me & my love for all things gray), but we also have a mizzou one, a camo one, several polka dot ones.
thanks so much yaya!!!
gooooo tigers!
we cheered on the tigers this saturday in their first game of the 2012 football season! we were able to buy the game on pay-per-view and enjoyed watching them romp southeast louisiana (as mike said "who's that?"). we decked out the house & the baby in our tiger gear!
GO TIGERS!!! can't wait for this season!!
feeling' fisty.
someone has discovered their hands this week!! if his binky isn't in, brady has his hands in his mouth almost constantly now. and he dang-near gets his whole fist in there. we've had some gagging episodes as he explores, and one time where i think he either bit himself or scratched the roof of his mouth, but there were many tears! and he is an absolute drool monster. maybe he's working on some little baby teefies!
the many faces of b.
i love you, my little expressive boy. thanks for making me laugh every.single.day with your myriad of facial expressions and feelings :)
walks with friends.
we spend at least one day a week at jen's, going on walks together around her neighborhood. cora is exactly a month younger than brady and so every once in awhile we photograph them side by side for comparison. brady's really got cora with the head size (he's a price), but her legs are longer and definitely thinner. they are about six ounces different weight-wise. he's really chunking up this month! he wasn't really feeling the photo shoot yesterday so we kept it short. but aren't they so cute together?
it was a gorgeous day for a walk yesterday!! i can't even tell you how amazing it is to have a friend in the exact same stage of baby/parenthood, in town. we have a great time together with our babes.
church in the park.
sunday our church held its service at a park in windsor. it was a beautiful day and we loved sitting under the shade tree for it. brady wore his sunday best! (please note the tie) he was quite comfy on aunt sarah's lap for the service.
he also loved stretching his legs on a blankie in the shade. everyone loves that!
the windsor harvest festival was going on in the park so after church we perused the booths and helped ourselves to some delicious treats :) like these mondo snowcones!!! this was the small size. yikes!
and what's a good festival without funnel cake? and the twisty fried tater chips with cheese. brady enjoyed some junk food milk later that afternoon and he approves too ;)

little man has discovered himself in the mirror. he was smiling & cooing at his reflection this morning. SO CUTE! i love how he's starting to hold himself up for longer, getting that chest off the ground!
