i want to remember.

favorite thing in life: snuggly baby sleeping on me in the morning, with hoodie sweatshirt, coffee & the fireplace on.  i waited a long time for this sweet feeling & i never want to lose sight of what matters most in my life.  it's not work on the computer, or phone time, or a hectic over-committed schedule.  it's sitting still with a heavy sleeping child on my chest, smelling his fuzzy hair and hearing his binky sucking in & out.

little man.

stop the cuteness.  you look like a little man in this collared shirt with gray pants.  I DIE.

and what's with the chubby cheeks - are you saving acorns in there for winter hibernation?

walking.

B, your favorite part of any day is your walk.  we try to get out at least once a day in the stroller & as soon as i put you in it you are happy as a clam.  so far, you haven't had one tear-fest in the stroller (as long as you're not hungry, haha).  it just calms you and you look around quietly and you pretty much stay awake the whole walk even if you're tired.  guess you don't want to miss anything.

i'm so, so glad it's cool enough to wear your little fleece bear-hooded jacket now.  it's adorable one you.  and also, we love the newest addition to the stroller, your toy leash from aunt sarah.  even better, it's made with mizzou fabric!

my how time has flown.

one week vs. five months.

i feel like we just brought him home yesterday!  how is he this big already?

yard time.

enjoying a little time in the yard on a blankie before the winter sets in.  he giggled when his bare hands or feet touched the cool grass.  love the simplicity of baby joy.

first solids.

on october 27, we gave brady his first solids - oatmeal cereal.

there was much thrashing & gagging at first but by the next day when it was time to try it again, he opened his mouth up wide like a baby bird and slurped it down.  i think he might be a foodie :)

friends.

spending the weekend in huntsville alabama with our dear friends amanda & brian and their sweet boys chase & carson.  bonus: mike was able to come up from his base and see us for a couple nights!!

mama's helper.

helping me work in the office.  he is my shadow & i could not love it more.  hearing his coos & babbles while i work on photos or check email is the best thing in life.

brady boy - you are definitely teething these days!!  no sign of a pearly white yet, but if you don't have a binky or a bottle in your mouth - your hands are there!  and you are a drool machine.  i love your gummy smile so much, but it's not as cute to be toothless as an adult so hopefully you get some soon ;)

we've been hanging out with aunt cake a lot this week & we have all LOVED it.  you and her have had some very serious chats :)  i think you're going to have so much fun with her growing up!!

and by the way, pretty sure you have more clothes than i do and you won't have to wear any 3-6 month clothes more than once.  you have a mama who loves to shop for you, and a lot of great aunties!!

huntington kids.

you love our social playdates with the huntington kiddos.  we go over or they come to our house 1-2 times a week and we have lots of floor time and giggles for you guys while aunt jen and i have coffee and catch up.  we go on lots of walks together too, something awesome about pushing strollers together with a dear friend & fellow mommy.  you're always happy to play with cora & eliot and enjoy their toys (different toys are always way more interesting than your own).  you & cora are about the same length but you've got her beat on weight (not to mention head size...sorry you inherited the price head, bud).  you're really much more chunky than her!

your laugh is infectious.  it's literally the best sound i've ever heard.

bathtime for bongo.

bath time continues to be one of your favorite activities brady!  you love lounging in the warm soapy water and even if you've been fussing prior, once we set you down in the water you calm right down.  not sure why you look so serious in this picture, i guess it's about time we get down to business and feed you your bedtime bottle :)  you've almost got enough hair to do the bathtime mohawk.  can't wait.

the shark towel is SO CUTE on you buddy.  and my, you're getting chubbers!  look at that chin & those cheeks hanging over your jaw!

how you feel about being sick.

this is how you feel about being sick, little mister.  you're worried, complaining some, but still somehow making mommy smile with your adorable expressions.  get better soon buster.

sicky.

last thursday B got sick for the first time.  poor babes.  he got a cold, with congestion and cough and waking up all hours of the night.  it was a rough few days for me & him and i think we're finally pulling out of the fog.  of course, i got sick a couple days after he did so we were kind of a mess.  thankfully i had a few days in a row off work and we were able to just lay low and recover.

coincidentally, brady had his four month peds appointment on friday so i was glad to get to see a doctor to confirm that it was indeed just a virus :)  the pic above is us waiting in the waiting room.  on the ill children side of the partition!

waiting for his vaccinations - POOR baby!  double whammy to get shots when you already feel like crap.  he was pretty miserable all day friday after that, slept a lot and took a lot of tylenol for his owies.  he even got his first fever that night and let me just say for the record, having a sick baby is so pitiful.  he was miserable and i felt so helpless to do anything to make it better.

i pretty much just held him all day and let him sleep off his woes.  poor baby.  hoping we don't get sick a lot this winter, but i'm afraid it's inevitable :(

side roller.

brady is really learning how to lounge on his side these days.  besides rolling tummy to back, he hasn't mastered rolling over back to tummy.  but by the looks of things, it's not too far off.

morning snuggles.

my favorite thing in the world is getting B up in the mornings, and feeding him his first bottle.  he's just so sweet & snuggly & warm.  and i find it hard to remember ever before experiencing a contentment quite like this.

aunt suz babysits.

my babysitter was sick one day last week so my friend suzanne came over to watch bradykins for me.   i love this picture she texted me while i was at work.  he just looks so SOFT & warm.  they had a great day together & i was so grateful to get lots of fun pictures of them hanging out and knowing that he was in good hands.  thanks aunt suz!!

winter is coming!

friday night we stayed up late waiting for the snow to start falling.  cold weather is even better with my little man to snuggle.

saturday coffee & snow!!

saturday morning was our first really chilly day of the season.  we woke up to drizzle, some snow flurries & temps in the 30s.  PERFECT for a coffee day with aunt kate & lots of snuggles on the couch with soft blankies.  i don't think brady minded the slow start to the day and he took several naps on our chests.

this weather is my favorite of all year long.  colder & more precipitation the better.  strangely it made me miss sargey a lot too, though - i think because he was always a pup who loved the cold weather & snow so much.  i think i'll really miss him more this winter than i have all summer.  i just felt his absence a lot this weekend.

brady, i hope you get as excited about snow flurries as your mama!  i was soooo happy!!  bring on the blizzards :)

kicking laughter.

i love this video so much - how B laughs just because i was saying "kick, kick, kick" while his legs went crazy in his bouncer.  i wasn't even touching him & he was cracking up!  this is the best new stage, him laughing so freely.

mornings.

sweet boy, before you came along mornings were my favorite time of day.  the quiet, the hot coffee, the stillness of the day before it really gets going.  now that you're here, they're even better than before.  nothing beats all of the goodness of a morning at home PLUS a warm, sweet little thing like you in footie pajamas & fuzzy hair.  i love you more than i expected.  you're the best thing your dad & i ever did.

friends in old town.

monday this week we joined friends in old town for a beautiful walk.  the fall weather was amazing, the leaves are changing, and we had the best time just wandering around window shopping & taking in the sights.  the babies loved the stroller rides too!

it was sarah's first time meeting little man, and i absolutely loved our time together this weekend.

the leaves are falling here!  it's so beautiful & i had to stop and take some pictures (with my phone...boo for not having my big camera with me) with little buster in the leaves.

someday he will have to fall asleep on his own, in his crib, and i know that - so right now i am soaking every second of this up in the evenings.  the heaviness of him on my chest, his breathing, how warm he makes me.  i don't ever want to forget it.
