the weather was beautiful & we all loved just hanging out on the patio & back yard.

i loved how all the decor turned out for your party - lots of bright colors, a slideshow on the tv with pics from your first year, and delish desserts.  it was a success!

cousins.

i absolutely am LOVING the cousin time bubs is getting this weekend.  he's gone to bed exhausted for each nap & bedtime, just totally played-out.  it's awesome having all three of these sweet babies together.

let the family mania begin!

the family is all here!!!!  saturday afternoon we went down to the airport to pick up the final missing pieces of our family weekend - the lootens!  you were very excited to see your favorite cousins.

we got back to the house and fully immersed ourselves in lolling about, like good price family members.

 

that evening was a big dinner out at freddy's steakhouse - YUM!  you were passed around & ate off everyone's plate & touched every surface in the place i think.  and just generally had a GREAT time!!

outside time.

 saturday we pretty must spent the whole day outside, enjoying the gorgeous weather!!  what a perfect weekend for your party buster.  mindy entertained you for awhile out back with bubbles (you say "buh-bow" for bubbles)...

while papa & i planted spring flowers in my pots out front.

then papa took you for a ride in the wheelbarrow!  you were a little nervous at first but then started laughing as he drove you around.

you had such a good time cooling off in the water hose after all the hard work.  you're a pretty big fan of your papa & it was so awesome to see you two hanging out together.

family, haircuts & prunes. what a day!

the birthday party weekend has begun!  your grammy, papa & uncle charlie arrived this afternoon and took right to relaxing in the living room after a long drive across missouri, kansas & colorado!

that evening grammy, aunt kate & i took you to get your hair cut for the second time.  gotta look good for your big party this weekend!  you are way more independent these days & did not appreciate having to sit still for so long.  you were pretty good for most of the hair cut, although quite the wiggle worm, and you definitely let us know when you were ALL.DONE.

since you've been on regular foods you've been having some digestive back-up problems.  mostly because you refuse to eat things with any fiber in them except bananas (seriously, what kid won't eat mandarin oranges???).  you prefer copious amounts of cheese, pasta & protein.  you're mine all mine!  anyway so one afternoon i decided to give you some prunes to help move things along...not a fan.

unless you could feed them to yourself, then you were okay with the plan.  you made a HUGE mess of yourself but as long as i let you hold the spoon (with help), you gobbled them down.

graduation party.

we enjoyed watching your friend eliot graduate from his first year of preschool today.  you & cora were quite the pair playing together!  and of course, having snacks.  i'm pretty sure you would never pass up a snack, even if you'd just eaten.

bravery.

you're learning how to let yourself down out of the tube at the playground.  i was a little nervous letting you do this, but aunt kate encouraged both you & me that you were capable.  when did you get so big?

pics from your day with megs - you are a smiling fool in all the pics i get from her while i'm working.  it makes me sooo happy knowing you're having a good time with her.  today you guys obviously enjoyed some good baby food...took a trip to target to wander around...and went on a couple walks.  perfect!
