borrowed toy.

you're a BIG fan of this new stand-and-play activity center we borrowed from a friend.  i put you up at it yesterday for the first time and you grinned away as you pushed buttons & explored it.

crawler.

you now take about three or four crawls before dropping back to your tummy & army crawling.  good job buster!

puppy BFF.

maggie the dog is living with us for a few weeks, and you are fascinated by her!  she is equally enamored, even more so now that she's discovered that you love to drop food off the side of your chair.  she usually parks it under the chair while you eat your baby food & then when it's time for puffs at the end of the meal - she sits up pretty & you reward her by feeding her soggy puffs off the palm of your hand.  she doesn't seem to care.

tooth check.

do i have anything stuck in my teeth?

almost there.

crawling continues to barely evade his expertise :)  he's working hard on it though!!

aunt ruthie is here!

aunt ruthie got here today & we were all soooo happy we went straight to the grocery for good eats to celebrate :)  brady was especially happy to have someone to carry him around instead of being locked in the grocery cart the whole time!  can't wait for our weekend together!!

a new challenge.

dear brady - you are becoming QUITE the challenge at meal times!  it doesn't help that you are incredibly distracted by everything around you - mainly, the dog maggie.  but also the tv if it's on, mama cooking while kate feeds you, a knock at the door, anything.  you have recently discovered that it's way more fun to try to grab the spoon as it comes towards you full of food.  or even more charming: flail your arms wildly about as it comes towards you and successfully fling baby food all over whoever is feeding you & the rug/table/chairs/walls.  thank you for that new streak of independence!  basically, every meal time is an opportunity for new sounds to get you to look at the spoon, finger snapping, singing, choo-choo sounds, airplane maneuvers, etc - as you hang over the side of your high chair, rub your hands through the food on your face, cry, shake your head or clamp your lips together.

i caught a few examples of your new behavior this morning as aunt kake tried to feed you breakfast:

babysitter days.

more pictures from the babysitter diaries.  we LOVE our babysitter meghan so much - she is absolutely wonderful with brady on my 12 hour shifts, and i always come home to a spotless house with a candle burning & lamps turned on (the way to my heart seriously).  he always looks like he's having a good time in the pics she sends, and i love knowing he's being well-loved while i'm away.  while going to work sometimes is hard for me & i wonder why i'm doing it, most days i am glad for the get-away and the time to just be an adult & take care of patients.  it helps knowing that i'm leaving B in good hands.  thanks meghan, we love you!!

babysitter diaries.

another installment from the babysitter diaries.  got this one tonight while i was at work, and he was preparing for his bedtime bath :)  love those buns & that face!!
